Our Values

As the impacts of climate change become increasingly pronounced, the entertainment industry holds a pivotal role in representing the changing climate and clean economy transition in the stories we tell on-screen, and comprehensively reducing our environmental impact across our operations and the work we do behind the camera. The Sustainable Entertainment Alliance is committed to supporting the industry towards a future that is not only sustainable in practice but also supports stories that reflect the realities of climate and sustainability for global audiences.

The Sustainable Entertainment Alliance is a consortium of leading studios, streamers, and film and television industry leaders working collaboratively to inspire a sustainable future, while reducing the industry's environmental impact. The initiative, operating as the Sustainable Production Alliance, began when the Green Production Guide was established, in a joint effort between the Producers Guild of America and a collective of the major studios. The PGA’s contributions were led by Lydia Dean Pilcher, Mari Jo Winkler, and Katie Carpenter in collaboration with the PGA’s Green Production Guide task force and green committee members.
